MSVCR100.dll was not found

I have tried to install a music program and got this error: The code execution cannot proceed because MSVCR100.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.

I have tried installing the C++ redistributable for x64 and this has not fixed the problem. I had a laptop previously and this worked before. I'm at a loss. I've spent nearly 10 hrs trying to get this fixed. Any advice is appreciated.

    Hello Douglas5919, how are you?

I am an independent consultant and user like you!

I understand that you are having a problem with the file being missing.

To make the correction, we will register the DLL again.

    > Open the Windows Command Prompt, as an Administrator.

    > Type "regsvr32 msvcr100.dll", without the quotes, and type 'ENTER'.

The command is executed instantly. If no errors appear, restart your computer and try to run the program again.

If an error message appears, share it here and I'll help;)

If you still have a problem I hope your answer!

When I had this problem the solution was to install the C++ redistributables, but you need the older ones too. Installing in date order may solve this problem. I seem to remember I had to install 2015 first, then the newer ones. Hope this helps.
