Does your mic has a physical mute button?
Microphone still keeps muting itself - Please Help
I have attempted every troubleshooting method I can find multiple times and have found no solution. I've tried to update drivers, ended svc.hosts, ran multiple malware detection programs none of which found anything, changed advanced microphone settings as instructed, disabled all other microphone inputs, ensured my microphone is set as default in windows and in my apps, even performed a clean install of windows and still my mic keeps muting itself. The only thing I've not done which I've seen suggested is changed the format of my microphone, since I only have the format I'm currently using and "tape recorder quality" available, which is obviously not acceptable.
Sometimes I can go a couple of hours, sometimes even days without a problem, other times it will mute itself, I'll unmute manually and it'll mute itself again within a minute.
This is having a major effect on my work and downtime and I urgently need a working solution.

I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.
Do the following procedure and see if it fixes the problem:
- Right-click on the volume icon and select "Open sound settings";
- Under "Related Settings", select "Sound control panel";
- Select the "Communications" tab;
- Under "When Windows detects communications activity", change it to "Do nothing".
- Click Ok.
I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions.

Reinstall the audio driver and see if it fixes the problem.
Download the latest driver available from the support area of your device manufacturer's website, uninstall the current driver, restart your computer and install the driver you downloaded.
Depending on your computer manufacturer, you may be able to uninstall the audio driver in "Settings > Apps > Apps & features".
If you are unable to identify the correct driver or uninstall it, please inform your computer's manufacturer and model.
