Thank you for the update.
automatic repair but no mouse or keyboard
Hi I'm having this problem again so I am just pasting in what I asked before because it is an identical situation but had it repaired by a professional. This time I left it to try and restore for 18 hrs as I didn't want to go through what I went through before but I was forced to turn it off and back on again with the problem. I was pretty put out when I had to fork out £70 to get it fixed so I'm asking again. Remember I have no mouse or keyboard. . This problem is happening on a different pc. Here we go
Hi I use system restore quite a bit and did so the other day but had to go out expecting for it to have restored or not when I got back. 5 hours later it was still running. Hmmm. So I left it for another couple of hours and it was still going. Looked it up on another Pc and others who's system restored had frozen had used the power switch, switched off and powered up again. I thought I would do the same and use safe mode to system restore. When I turned it back on there was the windows 10 square and then the screen went dark but eventually, quite a while later, a "Preparing Automatic Repair" window appeared. The screen went dark for ages and then came up with "Diagnosing your Pc" which then after another long wait it came up with "Automatic repair couldn't repair your Pc" and "Shut Down" and "Advanced options" appeared, but the mouse had also gone down with the whole thing so I was unable to use these to get any further. I tried using a system repair disc but the CD wouldn't boot and tried boot options but no joy on any of the options.
I have a Macrium Reflect system image but couldn't use it because the repair disc wouldn't boot. Doh!!!
Anybody got any ideas. I have a very limited understanding of PC's so simple instructions.
Thanks for taking the time to look.

2021-11-29T17:35:13+00:00 Hi
I did exactly what you suggested and it was fine. I was prepared to lose my stuff on a clean boot but went straight for the repair and system restore which worked lovely.
Thanks again for your help. Excellent. I'm not afraid of system restore anymore as that problem was a shadow as the last time it happened I had to shell out £70. I was not amused. Sweet

2021-11-28T16:55:13+00:00 Since you have the Windows installer file, try boot with it but don't install Windows and just check if your mouse and keyboard will work there.
You will have option to repair and you may try it first.

2021-11-26T15:28:53+00:00 Do you have access to another PC?
Are you able to boot into the BIOS?
Have you tried connecting the mouse to a different port or use a different mouse?
