Here's how Winzip technical support says to stop the annoying advertising pop-ups.  I have Winzip 24 running under Windows 10:

  1. Open the Windows Task Scheduler. Click on the "Task Scheduler Library" folder icon.
  2. In the center window scroll down the list of tasks until you find Windows Update Notifier 1.
  3. In the righthand "Actions" column, click delete, then OK when it asks if you want to delete this task.
  4. Do the same for Windows Update Notifier 2 and Windows Update Notifier 3.
  5. Open the "C:\Program Files\WinZip" folder, find and delete the "WZUpdateNotifier.exe" file.

According to Winzip tech support, "After doing this, you will not get any Promotional POPUP from WinZip application."

    " 3. In the righthand "Actions" column, click delete, then OK when it asks if you want to delete this task"

    The Delete option is NOT in the Actions Column...

    krishna12,

    I surmise you're speaking of the ''Promotional POPUPs from WinZip application?''

    ...and yes, 'cause of the cursor freezing ''thing,'' one must go to, in Windows 10, Settings>Apps>Click on ''WinZip''>Click ''Uninstall''>Click ''Uninstall.''

    Voilà! It worked! No more ''Promotional POPUPs from [the] WinZip application.''

    BUT!!!

    I wrote WinZip berating them for their program dropping THREE (3) lines of scheduling into my OS scheduler w/out asking me 1st!!!

    Why?

    'Cause look at the problem(s) they caused for us herein!!!

    FRANKLY, I REALLY hate it when directions to accomplish whatever are outdated or wrong too!

    The ''AUTHOR'' (''Winzip technical support'') of such MUST stay ''on top of things,'' otherwise... dCb (;>{
