I'm currently trying to download Forza but when I click to download it I can only select my main drive however its only 200gb and I dont have enough storage. I tried a different game and it let me choose all of my drives and I was just wondering if anyone can help with being able to select the other drives instead. This is only a problem with forza horizon 5 btw.

(Also I have tried to change my main drive location from my C drive to my D drive but I will have to delete everything on there for this to work and I dont want to do this as I have a TB of games downloaded)

    Hello weary traveller,

I appear to have found a rather simple solution to this issue. I hope it works for you :)
Unsurprisingly, the issue is with the Microsoft Store application.

    1. Open the Microsoft Store application and navigate to your relative version page i.e Base, Standard, Premium etc.
    2. If the download bar is showing and is in a state of error, click the 'X' to completely end any attempt at installation.

(Optional) Click the three dots in the upper right corner > Downloads and Updates > Downloads (Left Pane) > Look for your game here. This method is great for those who have a package as opposed to the base game as other content may still be considered as installing. If there are other components in the error state, end those processes similarly to Step 2.

    1. Without restarting the download, close the Microsoft Store app. I mean, just nuke it off the face of the earth!
    2. Open the XBOX application (you may need to install) and type 'Forza' into the search bar located somewhere near the top of the screen.
    3. Select your version when the options have loaded.
    4. On your version page, click to install the game. A prompt should appear, requesting an install location. Select your preferred location and enjoy the wait.

I have written all of this from memory which is a little shaky to say the least and I'm sure you can understand why I don't want to repeat the process hahah
If you have any questions, just chuck me a wee reply and hopefully I'll see it.

    Kind regards,
    Monty

hello everyone i had the exact same issue but after a week of headache i found out that the reason they are pushing you to download game on your C drive is because your other drive system is not NTFS just right click on your other drive and see for yourself it will be EXFAT or FAT32 it has to be NTFS which can be done by formatting hard drive but the sad part is you will lose all your data.. I hope this helps you guys!

    Hello WilkoJack,
    I'm independent advisor ,

Change the default location for saving Microsoft Store apps

Go to Start Menu> Settings> System> Storage> Save Locations> New apps will save to: choose the letter of the drive you want.

None of the data and none of the games that you currently have on the disc you are going to choose will be affected.

Try to install the game again

    Best regards

I'm having this same problem. The System > Storage setting for 'New apps' is set to G: which has 339 GB free. If it's trying to use C: anyway that would be a problem, since C only has 53 GB.

Part of the problem here is that the UI provides no confirmation of location, and also doesn't tell you how much space is required. It's a terrible bit of UI.
