Hi Blackhillz,
I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.
I suggest you do the procedure below.
- Open Start and select "Settings > Devices > Printers and Scanners";
- Under "Related settings", select "Print Server Properties";
- Select the "Drivers" tab;
- In the list of installed drivers, select the printer driver and click "Remove";
- Select "Remove driver and driver package", and click Ok.
- If you get a confirmation prompt to "Remove Driver Package", click "Delete".
You can clean up references from an old printer in the following places in Registry Editor:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86\Drivers\Version-3
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows x64\Drivers\Version-3
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows x64\Drivers\Version-4
To open Registry Editor, press "Windows + R", type regedit and press Enter.
I recommend that you make a backup of the registry or create a restore point before making any changes.
