Remove or Uninstall Printer Driver

I've searched and searched, and the methods I have found all require printmanagement.msc which no longer exists. I have changed printers.

I have removed the old printer from Printers & Scanners.

I have removed the associated programs from Apps.

Programs such as Word and Photoshop still think the drivers exist. So I need to delete the drivers. (Hopefully without having to delete all printer drivers and somehow magically reinstall the new printer, as was suggested here in an earlier thread)

    Hi Blackhillz,

    I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

    I suggest you do the procedure below.

    1. Open Start and select "Settings > Devices > Printers and Scanners";
    2. Under "Related settings", select "Print Server Properties";
    3. Select the "Drivers" tab;
    4. In the list of installed drivers, select the printer driver and click "Remove";
    5. Select "Remove driver and driver package", and click Ok.
    6. If you get a confirmation prompt to "Remove Driver Package", click "Delete".

    You can clean up references from an old printer in the following places in Registry Editor:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86\Drivers\Version-3

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows x64\Drivers\Version-3

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows x64\Drivers\Version-4

    To open Registry Editor, press "Windows + R", type regedit and press Enter.

    I recommend that you make a backup of the registry or create a restore point before making any changes.

    I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions.
