Laptop with closed lid randomly goes to sleep even when I have set it to do nothing.

First of all thank you for your response.

I have tried every option from your list but the problem insists.

I have encountered the following:

1. I was doing some video editing (using ffmpeg) on a windows terminal and I have experienced 2-3 random sleeps.
2. Also when the sleep incidents occured my laptop never went to sleep only the monitor went black. I then moved the mouse and turned it back on. This is an issue I also have: The laptop doesn't go to sleep when I have it plugged in the power adapter (using both keyboard sleep button and manually telling the computer to go to sleep). When I don't have power charger connected to the laptop it goes to sleep properly when I tell it to go to sleep.
3. I have experienced 2 sudden shut downs (without any notice - same thing as pressing power button for a few seconds). I searched the web and found out that this may be caused to overheating due to closed lid, but my laptop has both a power internal fan and an external cooling base with 4 fans.

Please let me know what I could do to fix these issues. When I have the lid open everything is fine. I am sorry if the 2nd issue isn't relevant to the original question, but is an issue I have encountered in the last few days.

Have you installed other computer management software, such as anti-virus software, or security software, etc., could these software control your computer's power management, you can try a clean boot to exclude third-party applications interference.

Also after our review and research, your problem may be most likely due to the motherboard problems caused by repeatedly entering the sleep state, you can enter the motherboard, try to reset the motherboard settings to see if there is an effect, if it still does not work, it is recommended to go offline computer store, or contact your computer brand to test the repair.

There can be several causes but to startwith, you can try following.

1. Troubleshoot Power
   Type troubleshoot in Windows Start Search box > Click Troubleshoot > Scroll down > Click Power > Run the troubleshooter > Follow on-screen direction.
2. Restore Default for Power Settings
   Right click on battery icon in system tray > Power options > Click Change Plan Settings > Click Restore default settings for this plan
3. Disable Fast Startup
   Right click on battery icon in system tray > Power options > Click Choose what the power buttons do > Click Change settings that are currently unavailable > Scroll down to Shutdown settings and uncheck Turn on fast startup > Click Save changes
4. Uninstall / Install Battery Driver
   Shut down your computer > Detach power chord > Remove battery > Attach power chord > Reboot your computer
   Windows Key+X > Device Manager > Expand Batteries > Right-click Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System > Uninstall > Shutdown the computer > Remove the power chord > Attach your battery > Attach your power chord > Reboot the computer to automatically install the driver
