Windows 11 Supported CPUs

So I have a quite low-end laptop, but I did some research and apparently it's should support Windows 11 but it doesn't meet system requirements. I have everything: TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, 4GB RAM, 1GHz CPU with 2 cores etc. , the only thing that's not supported is CPU model. I have AMD Radeon E2-9000 R2 with 1.80GHz, and it's 7th gen. I did some more research and apparently there's not much difference between 7th and 8th gen processors, so I was wondering will Microsoft lower their Windows 11 system requirements, or will it stay as it is?

    Hi dqne-

I'm Kevin B. Windows user like you. I do apologize for the inconvenience, let me help you sort things out.

Microsoft usually offers the upgrade to those devices Microsoft believes are the most likely to successfully install the upgrade. The compatibility checker will determine if the computer is compatible with Windows 11 and will notify its users if the computer passes the hardware requirements.

If the computer passes the hardware requirements, windows updates will offer the upgrade in stages until such time that device is ready to install the upgrade.

The current list is final, and the testing phase is complete. There are some users upgraded their system to Windows 11 even though that its not compatible however it is not recommended and Microsoft will not be liable for any loss.

You can still run Windows 10 since it will be supported until 2025. Another option is to reach out your manufacturer support for possible upgrade of processor.

Hope this will help and have a blessed day!

    Thanks,

    Kevin B.
