Hi i just picked up this carrilion control 25 as it was really cheap and i wanted to try out some music software. However windows rejects it as a unrecognised usb device, trying to find anything on this keyboard past 2008 is nigh on impossible. Ive tried using the midilink drivers aswell as the m-audio oxeygen 8. It will detect the midilink drivers but still not be useable. Connecting over usb at the moment anyone have any ideas /advice? Windows 10 and have protools and cakewalk installed

    Hi HellionLemon,

Thanks for your reply, Carillion control 25key is quite old. and it seems that it could work in Windows XP. This can easily lead to incompatibilities.

It seems that the only way to do this is that you use a third party driver query to see if there is a relevant driver.

Hi, when connecting to either my own windows 10 pc or a older windows 7 pc it gives me the same issue. It comes up yellow with an exclamation mark under usb devices instead of sound devices. I have tried rightclicking and updating drivers on both systems and it cannot find any.

I have tried injecting it with drivers of other brands that are the same model aswell, but the issue still persists

    Hi HellionLemon,

Welcome to Microsoft Community and thank you for sharing your concern with us today.

I understand that Midi keyboard couldn't be detected by windows Carillion control 25key. I am glad to offer you help on this issue.

You could use another pc to try your MIDI keyboard. And Check the Windows Device Manager to see if your device (or any new devices) appear.  MIDI devices should appear in the Sound, video and game controllers category.  If they appear with a yellow question mark or exclamation point, right-click and choose to update the driver.

    General tips

    • Try connecting to different USB ports, then check the Device Manager again
    • If your device is connected to a USB hub, try connecting it directly to ports on the computer.  Alternatively, if the device isn’t being recognized on the built-in ports, try connecting to a USB hub
    • Test the device on a different computer
    • Test with a different USB cable

NoteIf you are using a long USB cable, try a shorter cable.

I hope the information provided is useful for you. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to our support.

    Hi HellionLemon,

Thanks for your reply. Usually, this depends on the driver of your computer, but since the keyboard driver is older, the computer does not come with it. And how are you currently connected the Midi keyboard to your computer?

Could a MIDI to usb interface cable provide a temporary solution aswell? since it would read the midi from that instead. Something such as https://www.amazon.co.uk/Converter-Interface-Adapter-Suitable-Laptop/dp/B07W4WW9WH/ref=pd_ybh_a_4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=V2MA4RM4K4YHZGYJ3NN7 ?
