Which option should I choose to boot usb drive which contains windows for MSI?

Hello,

I am aware that there are many similar questions to mine, but I could not find one for MSI computers. The boot options are UEFI USB Hard Disk, USB CD/DVD, USB key: UEFI: SanDisk, Partition 1, and USB Floppy. I am very unfamiliar with all of these terms as I have very little computer experience. Searching these up just left me more confused. I would appreciate some help. I am trying to boot the USB because it contains the Windows I need to install onto my computer. Other responses suggest USB-HDD, but my computer does not seem to have that option (or I cannot see it). My mainboard is MSI MAG B550M!

Thank you!

    Hi,

There are two separate issues here...

The Bios settings for UEFI or Legacy, and the way the USB Flash Drive was created..

The flash drive needs to be created in a manner suitable for the Bios selected, and they are not interchangeable..

My guess based on your info would be to select either the UEFI USB Hard Drive or the UEFI: SanDisk, Partition 1..

Is the SanDisk possibly the SSD you are trying to install Windows to ?

One of my machine's Bios identifies bootable flash drives as a USB HDD, or UEFI USB HDD..

Hello thank you for the fast response! Fortunately, I managed to fix it after some intensive research. The UEFI:SanDisk, Partition 1 worked!
