Acer monitor with built-in speakers showing up as playback device, but not working

I have a PC with a 1660 Super, AMD Ryzen 5 3600, and it's connect to an Acer KA series monitor with built-in speakers. They've been working fine for about a year but today I tried to use the built-in speakers and they wouldn't work. My headphones still work, but no sound comes out from the monitor speakers.

I have already made sure that the monitor itself is not muted or anything.

Hi, I'm Ana M. I would love to help you today.

I also recommend updating your audio drivers.

If the steps above don't work, follow these other steps:

    • Press ‘Windows key + I’ together to open ‘Settings’.
    • Click on ‘Update & Security’.
    • Click on ‘Troubleshoot’.
    • Click on ‘Playing audio’.
    • Click on ‘Run the troubleshooter’.

    Hi,

    So the troubleshooter thankfully worked

I'm wondering how I may have accidentally muted the audio device?

By the way, it also installed some drivers which fixed it
