Miracast over ethernet

My Custom Built PC is connected to my network via ethernet (No Wifi/WLAN Card) and I want to extend my display wirelessly to my TCL Roku Tv.

My Tv Does support Miracast as I've been able to cast from my Windows 10 Laptop (connected via Wi-Fi) to the same tv.

To My knowledge My PC should support Miracast, DxDiag Shows that Miracast is available with HDCP, WDDM 1.3.

Get-netadapter|select Name, ndisversion in PowerShell show my ethernet version as 6.50.

PC Specs:

CPU: Core i7-3770k

Graphics: intel HD4000 IGPU

Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth z77 onboard LAN

Windows 10 Home: Version 21H1

Already updated/ reinstalled network drivers

Device manager (hidden devices are showing) doesn't show Microsoft wifi direct virtual adapter

I Don't have an option to project to a wireless display using win+p

The connect app say my pc doesn't support miracast

To Utilize Miracast over Infrastructure Would I have to Find A WLAN adapter that also supports Miracast Just to initiate the connection through infrastructure? (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/surface-hub/miracast-over-infrastructure)

Is there any sort of work around that would allow for the Miracast over infrastructure to initialize the connection with ethernet as I have both my PC and TV connected via ethernet.

In terms of difficulty, How hard would it be for Microsoft, WIFI Alliance, whoever is in control of this tech to implement this change?

Windows for home | Windows 10 | PC projection

I've just submitted this through the feedback app, Thanks for that suggestions.

"If you don't want to try connecting PC to TV over home network..." I can't connect this way, there isn't an option and I'm trying to figure out why. It would seem that I should be able to but I cant.

For Anyone having a similar problem Here are some answer I came up with for the previously asked question:

Q1:"To Utilize Miracast over Infrastructure Would I have to Find A WLAN adapter that also supports Miracast Just to initiate the connection through infrastructure?

A1: Yes. "Discovery requests to identify Miracast receivers can only occur through the Wi-Fi adapter. Once the receivers have been identified, Windows 10 can then attempt the connection to the network." It would seem that you would need to buy an adapter just to initialize the connection afterwards it'll connect through infrastructure/Ethernet. If you're already using Ethernet it would seem the adapter would become a paperweight after you initialize the connection.

Q2: Is there any sort of work around that would allow for the Miracast over infrastructure to initialize the connection with ethernet as I have both my PC and TV connected via ethernet?

A2: No, Miracast uses Wi-fi Direct which in simple terms, Allows two devices to connect to each other by having one of the devices host its own Private "Hotspot" between the two devices, eliminating the need for a router and allow both devices to communicate with each other. A possible workaround would have something to do with allowing the devices to recognize and communicate with each other Privately using the router not Wi-Fi Direct. I wish this was the current implementation because it would theoretically allow devices to recognize and communicate with each other regardless of the connection type Wi-Fi/Ethernet. P.S. I'm not to savvy in this field and this is all speculation, this is just where I'm at after researching.

Q3: In terms of difficulty, How hard would it be for Microsoft, WIFI Alliance, whoever is in control of this tech to implement this change?"

A3: Unsure. I've contacted Wi-Fi Alliance, waiting for response.

If I setup a DLNA Server on my pc I can stream videos, pictures, Music etc... Is it possible to stream a live video source through DLNA? I Found the answer to my question again: https://realmike.org/blog/2011/02/09/live-desktop-streaming-via-dlna-on-gnulinux/ This article is exactly the solution I need but sadly its for Linux. Just another reason to switch ig huh

I am well aware on how to project to a wireless display, I've done this many times with my laptop so none of those link were useful, they all pretty much say the same thing.

My Problem is with the functionality between Miracast over Infrastructure and my pc setup. I'm pretty sure an answer to these questions would help me tremendously.

If you want to suggest this to Microsoft you can use the Feedback Hub app in Start Menu where developers are tasked to process consumer feedback and may interact with you. But Microsoft will not even see it here because this is a tech forums where we are mostly volunteers trying to help solve your problems.

If you don't want to try connecting PC to TV over home network, then I found more resources for using Miracast over Ethernet:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/surface-hub/mi...

    https://internet-access-guide.com/miracast-over...

    https://www-gcp.ezcast.com/blog/4333/magicether...

    https://smallbusiness.chron.com/connect-pc-lcd-...

    https://www.avforums.com/threads/windows-10-mir...

    https://community.roku.com/t5/Network-Wireless-...

Based on the results you post back I may have other suggestions if necessary.

"Here's how to connect your TV to the home internet network:https://support.tcl.com/rokutv-setup-configurat... " TV is already connected to the internet.

My Pc Has two display outputs, one HDMI and one Display port. I Have two Smart Tv's That I want to use as displays. One is connected through HDMI and the second is connected through a display port to HDMI adapter that isn't working so I currently only have one display outputting a desktop. Now instead of going and buying another adapter that would most likely get damaged due to quality, I thought of a more permanent solution to my display problem.

Miracast Being a built in function of windows 10 would've been the perfect solution for me regardless of the performance or quality.

    Connect Quick ActioncONNECT ui

A solution to my problem would be something like Miracast That uses the Router to allow the devices to connect and communicate with each other rather than Wi-Fi direct. Since my PC is connected to my router via ethernet the TV cannot communicate with the pc as it has no wireless capabilities.

Considering that a Router connects all of your devices to each other and allows for file sharing and DLNA servers I'm assuming that something like this is should possible but to My knowledge such a thing doesn't exist.
