This is just one of hundreds of old disc based games that use SafeDisc copy protection.
MS built a 'security feature' - DRM Blocking - into Win10 that prevents any disc based game that uses SafeDisk from launching
(because the SafeDisk driver gets blocked during the disc check, but not while installing).
More details on this and a few other DRM issues in my post on --this thread--
To run these games you need to use a noCD fix\hack. You can get a noCD fix for this game from - here -
Use the version that suits the version you have patched the game to (installing patches on older games is often necessary), and language.
The majority of older games that ran well on Win7 will still run on Win10.
This game was released in 2001 which makes compatibility a bit hit and miss (games older than 2004 tend to have more problems with newer Windows),
so it may have other issues with Win10, but using Compatibility with XP sp2 may help if it fails to launch when using a noCD fix.
In addition to downloading the patches, you may also find other fixes required for this game by doing a www search.
They don't have this game, but with many old games it is often easier to buy a new copy from - Good Old Games.
GOG remove all pesky DRM and fix other issues a game may have with with newer versions of Windows (Win7 onward).
- btw... Downloads are done from the internet. These days most games download and install at the same time, but when using
a disc you are installing the game\software.
