How do I change the action for the quotation mark function?

Since updating to Windows 11, when I type quotation marks they don't appear until I push the space bar. This is very annoying, because it adds another action to my process. I would like to turn off this feature and have it as it was, which is when I type a quotation mark it appears like any other letter or key stroke.

    I discovered the answer to my question. When I wiped my computer clean and reloaded Windows 11, I installed two keyboard systems, UK English and US English. The UK English keyboard has different functions attached to keys. I deleted the UK English keyboard, and this immediately fixed the problem.

    My apologies for posting this question in the Teams Q&A.

    Since Microsoft is continuing the dumbing down of the windows settings, adding and switching to the US keyboard in Windows 11 is not obvious. Here's where to find it.

    1. Settings -> Time & Language -> Language & Region
    2. In the "Preferred lanugages" section click on ... on the language you're using. Select "Language Options"
    3. In the "Keyboards section" add a US Qwerty keyboard. Remove others.

    It solved the "" problem for me.
