Problem on Windows 11 and/or Microsoft Teams

I use Microsoft Teams at work and my team keep videos of working meetings in one specific folder in Teams. After I installed Windows 11, I can't reproduce the audio of these videos anymore.

The videos even don"t start on Teams, but when I download them to my environment (running Windows 11 now), the videos run but with no audio. If I move the video (MP4 file) to another computer runinig Windows 10, the video and audio are good, which shows the problem is on Windows 11. All drivers are updated and I participate on Teams conferences all right (image and audio all right). In summary, for everything else the audio of my Windows 11 are fine and the problem happens only for the videos stored in Teams. My collegues that are running Windows 10 on their computers don´t have this type of problem.

Any help will much appreciated. Does anyone knows when microsoft will fix this problem?

    Hi luisiaderoza,

I'm Rodrigo and I will help you.

To fix your mp4 playback issues, download and install the codec pack from the link below, video plays well on VLC because it uses its own codecs.

Thank you, Luis for your feedback. Let's get some additional information about the required codec. Please, play the video with VLC player, then select Tools, Codec Information. Take a screenshot and share it here, please.

Here is the screenshot. I apologize for the portuguese version of VLC on my computer and I hope you can read the codec used by the file recorded by Teams. Let me know if it helps. Thank you Jose.

Note: The use of VLC Midia Player is a bypass to the problem on Windows 11, but the problem that persists is that MP4 files recorded in Microsoft Teams can´t be reproduced by Windows 11 native midia player or by WMP. It is too bad to have to download the MP4 from Teams and reproduce it using a third party application.

Hi Jose! First of all I really appreciate your prompt reply to my post.

I searched the MPEG-2 Video extension in Microsoft store and found two applications:

    1. MPEG-2 video extension (Microsoft Corporation)
    2. MPEG-2 video extensions (Yellow Elephant Productions) - Paid version

When I tried to install the first one from Microsoft Corp I found out it is already on my machine.

Do you mean I have to buy and install the number 2 above?

    Thanks again for your support.
