I've been researching about how to fix this beeping noise and mouse lag issue for a while now and can't find anything that isn't from 2014 or 2015. Every old forum I have seen Is bringing Word or Office and solutions like Ease of Access. I'm not sure if it's a Windows 11 issue but it wasn't happening on Windows 10.

With process and elimination, I figured out the issue. I have a Logitech G502 Hero and others have had the same issues. Turns out the own app was making the noise happen when scrolling to fast. For Solution: Reinstall the GHUB App If you already have it installed.

Thanks for assisting me through this. I appreciate it :D

Ok - I have this exact same issue and need help as I do not have that mouse or that software. I have a Surface Book that I bought just over two years ago. I recently upgraded to Windows 11 with the help of my company's IT support (I am a contractor and use my own computer, not the company's). Immediately I began experiencing the beeping when scrolling too fast, the lag in my mouse cursor, and when typing the text stops and eventually fills in once I have already stopped typing (often revealing my many misspellings and errors lol).

Anyway, what the heck do I do? Before upgrading and after I have also had issues with Windows Explorer locking up and not letting me right click on files (also causes it to lock up).

It's all very irritating and I just want it fixed. This is way to new a computer for already having these issues.

PS - I am okay with technology but I am not any expert so let's keep it in layman's terms.

    Thanks in advance!

Sadly enough, I couldn't find the solution. I'd rather not do Solution 13 till later because it's very late at night and I could also run into issues leading and adding on to more issues. I've updated drivers. I looked up Beep Codes to see if it was anything hardware (or motherboard) related. My BIOS and Firmware is also up-to date. There were also no apps that was affecting the mouse either and changing USB Port didn't work either. I will see later if it's a PC problem using another PC with the same mouse. Note that the only reason the mouse lags and jumps is when I scroll to fast.

    I appreciate the assistance.

Hi Developer. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, specializing in Installation, Performance, Troubleshooting and Activation, here to help you.

Where are the beeps coming from? If inside the PC case then it could be motherboard beeps which warn of certain problems:

    https://www.pcgamer.com/why-is-my-pc-beeping-at...

But since the main issue is mouse lag let's deal with that to see if the beeping goes away, too:

    1. Try these fixes for mouse lag in Windows:

    1. Try all other ports on the PC, often the front and back will have different USB controllers
    2. When did it last work correctly? What has changed since then? Is there a System Restore point to roll back to before then? Here's how: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-use-system-r...
    3. Change the batteries if wireless, try another USB port, reset mouse from button on bottom if available.
    4. Try the mouse in another PC to isolate if it's the mouse or Windows causing this.

Try another mouse in this PC to confirm if Windows is the problem.

    1. Access the Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start button, choose the Mouse, then Driver tab. First try Update this Driver > Automatically, then Roll Back if available. If not choose Uninstall button, restart PC using keyboard to Ctrl Alt Del, on blue screen tab to Power Icon in bottom right, press Enter, arrow down to Restart, press Enter to restart to reinstall the driver.

If this fails then from Device manager try uninstalling the USB controllers, restart PC to reinstall. First program the power button to Shut down the PC at Settings > System > Power & Sleep > Additional Power Settings > Choose what Power button does so you can do the restart from it.

    1. Is there mouse software installed in Settings > Apps > Apps & Features? Uninstall it to see if the problem stops. This is unneeded bloatware.
    2. Adjust the mouse settings in Settings > Devices > Mouse, checking all settings including the Additonal Mouse Options box - check Settings on all tabs.
    3. Try disabling Mouse acceleration:

Report back all results for possible other things to try.

    1. To check if Windows is causing this you can also go over this checklist to make sure the install is set up correctly, optimized for best performance, and any needed repairs get done: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

Start with Step 4 to turn off Startup freeloaders which can conflict and cause issues, then Step 7 to check for infection the most thorough way, then step 10 to check for damaged System Files. Then continue with the other steps to go over your install most thoroughly.

    1. Update your drivers from the PC maker's Support Downloads web page, using the full model number, Serial Number or Dell Service Tag on sticker. Compare the latest drivers available for download with the ones presently installed in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start Menu. Make sure you have the latest BIOS or UEFI firmware, Chipset, Display (Video), Sound, USB3, Bluetooth, Network and all other drivers, or else download and install the latest now.
    2. If nothing else helps you can run a Repair Install by installing the Media Creation Tool and choosing from it to Upgrade Now. This reinstalls Windows in about an hour while saving your files, apps and most settings, solves many problems while also bringing it up to the latest version which you need anyway and by the most stable method:

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.
