printer configuration problem 0x80070077 after Windows 10 to 11 & reversion back to 10

I'm receiving the error message "Your printer has experienced an unexpected configuration problem. 0x80070077." Saw a similar thread from 12oct21 in French, but was unable to translate. As with him, wondering if it's an issue from changing from Windows 10 > 11> 10. Have run all the usual troubleshooting options (removing & re-adding printer, ensuring that's shareable, updating printer drivers, clearing spooler files, and running windows troubleshooter). The latter gives the image below. Not sure what other options exist.

Most who seem to have this problem have installed Windows 11 then gone back to Windows 10. I have not installed Windows 11 although it keeps trying to install. I'm not tech savvy so I don't want to install Windows 11 until all bugs are worked out. I wish someone would come up with a solution to this printer issue as it's very frustrating.

    Hi Faith -

I'm Kevin B., I do apologize for the inconvenience that you're experiencing right now, let me help you sort things out.

What is the exact brand and model of the printer? Is the printer working properly before upgrading to Windows 11 and reversing back to Windows 10?

Kindly try to completely remove the printer driver on your windows along with its packages and reinstall them back on your computer to ensure that all old files will be removed and refreshed.

Follow the steps below and check if it helps

Open the command prompt as administrator

Type the command below and press enter after the command

    printui /s /t2

Print Server Properties will appear, locate your printer on the list and select "Remove"

Select "Remove Driver and Driver Package"

Click OK and wait for the uninstallation to complete

Click on Apply and close the printer properties

    Restart the computer

Once restarted, visit your printer OEM website and using the exact brand and model of the printer, kindly locate the updated/latest driver available for your printer

Download and Install the driver on your computer

    Check if the printer works

Hope this will help and have a bless day!

    Thanks.

    Kevin B.

    Hi Keven.

I have same problem, exactly same with Faith.

    0x80070077 error after Windows 10 to 11 & reversion back to 10.

Uninstall printer driver and software, remove driver package (what you said), delete device and nothing works.

    I think there are some problems in upgrade Windows 10 -> 11, degrade 11 -> 10 process.

I've been suffering from this problem for two months.

    Thanks.

    sandray1911,

I had the same problem. I went to settings, printers, clicked on the printer and clicked remove. Then I went back and did the steps that Kevin B provided. I am now able to print again. Glad I found this thread!

    Thanks Kevin B.

HP ENVY 5530 series; This driver is used on:

I am unable to print from the PC. It was printing just fine one day then quit printing the next day. Using Wifi I can print from my laptop, however, I would like to be able to print from both.
