HP reboot not rebooting

My work laptop is unable to reboot a message came on to say 'Your PC did not start correctly' then tells me to press restart, I did then a blue screen tells me there was trouble restating then it goes into Auto repairing then diagnosing and back to blue screen with options of restart or advance options I go into trouble shoot and try to reset PC then a message came on to say There was a problem resetting your PC. No changes were made. Now I have a PC that cannot start-up. I have been trying most of the options even the start-up repair that didn't work a message came on Log file: C;\WINDOWES\System32\Logfikes\Srt\SrtTrail.txt and seems nothing is working so I have to shut down my PC.

The problem started when was Microsoft updating and then the PC shut down quickly then went into a blue screen to say it cannot start up. I believe Windows update has ruined my PC and if I have to buy a new one then it is no thanks to Microsoft! I am now out of my wits that I have to buy a new PC this one is only 2.5 years old!

Hi, I'm Ana M. I would love to help you today.

Try to enter the Recovery Environment to repair Windows.

Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to perform a complete shutdown, you must do this three times or more in order to enter Safe Mode.

Check this link in the Option (From a black or black screen)

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/sta...

Go to Troubleshooting - Advanced Options - Reset this PC

There you will have 3 options:

1- Keep my files and applications

    2- Save my files

    3- Do not save anything

I recommend you use the first option.

If you can't restore Windows after performing the previous steps.

I recommend you borrow a PC to create a USB to repair Windows

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

See here the correct way to recover your files when repairing Windows:

    Hi Peter

Insert the USB, then start your laptop, on the HP logo screen repeatedly press the Esc key

Then press F9 and that should give you the option to boot from the USB drive.

    Hi Ana M.

I tried the links and they did nothing to help, tried to get through to Windows safe then started to say there was a problem restarting. I need to get out of the restarting cycle. I feel as though I'm on a roundabout not able to get off. Thanks again for your time and help much appreciated.

    Peter.

    Hi Ana M.

I have gone through all the steps you told me unfortunately it won't restart it seems there is a problem in restarting. It looks like I will have to either take it to a PC repairer or buy a new one. This is the second time this has happened after Windows updated and the first time it was an HP problem which I managed to get back and now it won't go through the start-up sequence and keeps coming up with a message "critical process died" and then I went into troubleshoot blue screen errors but there it doesn't help me because I can't get the Windows screen that is said, I have tried to open in safe mode but it goes back to the error by saying problem with start-up and goes through auto repair repeating the same message. So thank you for your help but it seems more serious than thought and I will have to get it repaired.
