"Regular" Windows 10/11 Pro for laptop with Xeon processor

I have a plan to buy a new computer which has Xeon processor because of ECC memory for greater reliability. However, as seen in Dell and HP website, "Windows Pro for Workstation" required for Xeon processor. I prefer to have regular Windows Pro instead since there are some extra features which I don't need, and avoid spending extra money. My future laptop with Xeon processor is for personal use.

It's possible to install a "regular" Windows 10/11 Pro to a laptop with 6 or 8 cores Xeon processor?

    Hi YaoH

That processor is on the compatibility list for Windows 11.

I do not see why Dell is indicating your need Pro for Workstations, you will just have one processor with 6 cores, I am using a hex core (6 cores) Intel Core i7 processor with Windows 10 Home and as Indicated above, Windows 10 Pro supports 2 separate physical processors with a maximum of 128 cores

    Hi YaoH

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

The regular Windows 10/11 Pro can access a maximum of 2 separate processors with a maximum of 128 cores, so there is absolutely no problem running Windows 10 Pro on a XEON processor with 8 cores.

    Hi YaoH

Rest assured, if that is a new processor, there is no compatibility issues at all, it is only processors the are older than 2018 that would not be compatible with Windows 11.

You can check the processor model No. you will be using on the list below to make sure it is Windows 11 compatible.

By the way, if I install regular windows 10 Pro on laptop with Xeon processor, is there compatibility issues when trying to upgrade to Windows 11 Pro?

P.S. it's so strange that laptop with Xeon processor requires "Windows 10 or 11 Pro for Workstation" when customize laptop spec upon order.
