Realtek Audio not working and is causing me lots of problems

Hi there! My audio was working fine until I decided to update the audio driver. The audio just stopped working, I researched the whole internet, tried everything I could find. Nothing worked. The only thing that temporarily fixes it, is uninstalling the driver. After uninstalling, when I reboot, my audio works. But, it says "Your PC needs to restart to finish setting up Realtek (R) Audio" and when I restart, it installs the latest drivers, and boom, stops working again. If I don't restart, then I don't have a Realtek HD Audio Manager, so I can't do stuff with my audio. Can you guys please help me to update to the latest driver and make it work?

Realtek HD Audio Manager is not compatible with Windows 11.

All computers made since 2018 doesn't use Realtek HD Audio Manager anymore. They have the new Realtek audio DCH driver that have Realtek Audio Console that is automatically downloaded from Microsoft Store.

This is also one of the reasons why 2018 CPU is the cut off date for Windows 11 --- they all use these new DCH drivers.

For me the fix was method 5 in this list. Listed the important steps but you may want to backup the registry folder before you run just in case. Before doing this fix I after every power cycle I had to go into Settings->Ease of Access->Audio menu and then click on the "change the device or app volume" blue link on the right which would magically get all of my audio devices started up.

THIS IS FREAKING TERRIBLE that doing a windows 10 update would cause this kind of issue and all of the windows troubleshooters could do nothing!

    1. Open **Command Prompt as Administrator.**7. Copy & Pastethe following command (in green letters) into the CMD window, and press Enter:

    REG ADD "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\WinStations" /f /v ConsoleSecurity /t REG_BINARY /d 010014809c000000a800000000000000140000000200880006000000000014000100000001010000000000050400000000001400bf030f000101000000000005120000000000140089000f00010100000000000513000000000014008100000001010000000000051400000000001800bf030f000102000000000005200000002002000000001800210100000102000000000005200000002b020000010100000000000512000000010100000000000512000000

    1. Aster receiving the "Operation completed successfully"  message close Command Prompt.
      9.Restart your PC.
    2. Test the Sound on your PC and you're done!

If the windows desktop speaker icon is wonky you can do the following to fix it

Go to that bottom right of your taskbar now, and right-click the audio icon. You will see "Speaker Setup (UNKNOWN)". Well, select "OFF" and the icon will now change back as if you had no audio issues whatsoever. (Again, all these steps, you have to repeat them every time you restart your computer).

If the above didn't work the other thing I did which may help is the following https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/windows-audio-and-windows-audio-endpoint-builder/945d00ea-47e4-43e2-868b-724e9a9465a3 This issue may occur if the service is started by the Local System account instead of by theLocal Service account (NT AUTHORITY\LocalService). The Local System account may have insufficient permissions to start the service. For the Windows Audio and Windows Audio Endpoint Builder services, follow the steps below:

    1. Set the service and any dependent services to run under theNT AUTHORITY\LocalService account.
    2. Click Start, type "Services.msc” in the Search programs and files box, and then press ENTER.
    3. Locate and double click the Windows Audioservice.
    4. Click the Log On tab.
    5. In the This account text box, type “NT AUTHORITY\LocalService”.
    6. Set both Passwordfields blank.
    7. Click Applyand then OK.
    8. Repeat these steps for the Windows Audio Endpoint Builder service.
    9. Restart both services.

Done. Still can't hear anything, the Setup_APP.cmd file in the audio console file you sent worked, but when I ran Install_UWP.cmd, it gave me this error.

Hi Carlo! Thanks for your help. I tried all the steps but nothing seems to work. My model is Nitro AN515-45, and I have already downloaded and installed the latest drivers given on the acer website, but it still doesn't work! I don't know what to do.
