Hi, I am Van. I'll be glad to assist you today.
Kindly verify the license type installed. Please follow the steps below.
- Click the start menu, then type CMD. Right-click the command prompt then select run as administrator.
- In the command prompt type or copy-paste the command below
slmgr /dlv
- Send us the result of what it says on the description or product key channel from the pop-up window.
If it is a Volume license, you might need to contact the seller to verify with them about the license issue. Because commonly for home personal Windows PC we only use an OEM or Retail type license. Because this license does not have an expiration. Otherwise, you will need to purchase a new Retail license to reactivate the Windows system.
Or you can try the methods below and check if you can retrieve the original license of the laptop. Because most laptops especially branded devices have an OEM license key attached to their motherboard.
Method 1.
- Open the command prompt and run it with administrator rights.
- Type or copy-paste the below command in the command prompt
wmic path softwarelicensingservice get OA3xOriginalProductKey
- The license key that has 25 characters should appear.
- If the license key did not appear kindly proceed to method 2.
Method 2.
- Go to the Microsoft store. Search for ShowKeyPlus in the MS store search bar
- Download and Install the app.
- Once done, run the app. The app will display the license installed on your device.
Best regards,
Van
