Issues pairing with Mac from new PC

For months, I have successfully been writing iOS and Android apps through Xamarin.Forms (VS 2019) on an acer laptop (Windows 10) paired to a Mac Mini (Big Sur).
On the weekend, the laptop died so I brought in an Intel Nuc I had to take its place. Since then, I have successfully compiled and deployed to an Android device but I cannot pair to the Mac Mini, so can't compile to my iOS device.
When I try to pair to the Mac, it appears to work and there is no real error, but the message states, "The connection to '(my Mac)' has been finished". At this point, the VS Mac icon on the PC does NOT turn green, and there is NO active connection to the Mac. Further, the Connect button on the Pair to Mac dialog is grayed out so no further attempt is possible.
I'm running Xcode 13.1 on the Mac, if that helps. The Nuc is 64-bit 1.5GHz with 8GB RAM.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I use the VS 16.11.7 to pair to a Mac, it works as expected. Please try to open VS installer to reparit the VS. You could view the log file to get the reason. The log files can be located by browsing to Help > Xamarin > Zip Logs in Visual Studio.

    If all above doesn't work, please file a new report on Developer Community by going to Help > Send Feedback > Report a problem in Visual Studio and attach the logs described under Check the Verbose Log Files.
