I found an unknown device in device manager, and I think that it's related to one of my previous questions

I had a problem which was caused by me deleting the USB 3 Root Hub and eXtensible Host Controller, expecting them to be reinstalled automatically, which they were not.

A day later, I found two unknown devices in device manager, and i deleted them both.

About two days after that, I found one more unknown device, and its description is "ROOT\USBFUNCTIONCONTROLLER\0000"

Does anyone know which drive this is?

In device manager go to view --> show hidden devices and look if the USB Driver appears and try updating it.

    If that fails:

In device manager go to actions --> add legacy device then choose the USB host or whatever it's called and opt to choose from an available set of drivers and see if somewhere in a section about USB you can find the extensible host controller. If not look for the location where you saved the Intel chipset installer and look for a file that sounds like it could be the right one. If you can't find one extract the exe file of the installer into a folder and look there. If you found one try installing it manually using device manager and adding a legacy device, then choosing from a list and selecting have disk from the menu, from here you can navigate to the file you want.

If this all fails and no one else finds a fix for you, I suggest doing an in-place upgrade keeping your files and apps using the utility Microsoft provides on the website.

I'm not sure. I bought this computer about 2 years ago, and it's been working just fine for me. It was only about 2 weeks ago that I found out that my USB ports weren't always recognized as USB 3, and as a reaction, I deleted the USB drivers to see if they would be repaired after an automatic reinstallation which did not even happen.

Could it be this system was transferred from another hardware?

There doesn't seem to be a Hardware ID option in the drop-down menu.

The PC may have been from another person's office. It was pre-owned.

The USB 3 eXtensible Host Controller drivers don't seem to be compatible with my Windows 10 Pro, Dell Optiplex 7010. It uses a Sandy Bridge Chipset, I think. One of said drivers on the Intel site says that it is not compatible with my device, and another says that my system does not meet the system requirements.

I tried downloading an Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver, I think, from the Intel website, and either the driver is not meant for my pc or I installed it improperly, because it caused errors which had to be fixed by using some sort of repair option in the blue screen that popped up after some time.
