The January 2022 update for Windows 10 (KB5009543) and 11 (KB5009566) broke the ability to set an MTU larger than 1500, even on a virtual adapter for a VPN. Removing these updates restores the ability to set MTUs above 1500.

We have come to the same conclusion.
In fact, it broke already in the december update. And unfortunately most computers refuse to uninstall the december update.
We have found that MTU>1500 does not work if either of these these updates for Windows 10 are installed: KB5010342, KB5009543, KB5008212

Any idea when this can be fixed?

It would be great if Microsoft fixed this problem as it is affecting many people.

I have tried to fix it with all the options showed on previous comments and even changing the registers but this does not work.
