Slow HP laptop using Windows 10.

Laptop is very slow most times when using a browser, Edge and Google, Teams, Zoom, Twitter, FB, WhatsApp web etc.

Laptop takes up to 10 minutes to start up despite all unnecessary programs disabled.

All hardware and software diagnostics report back 100% performance.

Reinstalled Windows 10.

All updates up to date.

No virus's either.

Word, Excel, Adobe and Outlook function well.

Apart from throwing away this brand new Laptop, is there a way of sorting it out as it appears to be software and not hardware related? Do the OS?

Just to close this thread, two issues caused this:

    1. Failing HDD that haz been replaced and now pc boorz up jn a few seconds
    2. Browser hardware accelerators switched off and now browsing is uber fast.

    Lessons learnt:

    1. HP diagnostic software is not up to speed.
    2. GPU architecture does not favour hardware acceleration, its well known by HP support staff for this i7 but not part kf the support packages.
    3. In this 4IR we have limited skilld to support tech

    Over and out.

    Good Day BenoitLe

My name is Carlo, I am also using Windows 10 and a community member like you.

let us work together to sort this out.

First, can you please check what are the services and processes running in your computer in the task manager.

-Click Start, type Task Manager and open it

    -Click Processes Tab

Take a screenshot and post it here.

Also check the version of Windows installed in your device.

    -Press Windows key + R

    -Type winver and hit Enter

it will show you the Windows and build version and post it here.

I'll look forward for your response so that I can provide an accurate recommendation.

Have a wonderful day ahead and stay safe.

    Sincerely,

    Carlo T.

Carlo I have done both the scan with zero malware found and a clean boot but no change? Quo vadis?

    Good Day BenoitLe,

I appreciate your time getting back to this thread, it appears that the Edge is taking most of the usage and some third party apps.

You can try to scan your computer using the free version of Malwarebytes scanner to check if there are malware or adwares running in your system.

    Here's the link to download.

    https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download/thank...

Once downloaded and installed open the app and perform a scan and check for infection.

Once the scan is done restart your computer using cleanboot.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-t...

    Restart and check the performance.

Have a wonderful day ahead and stay safe.

    Sincerely,

    Carlo T.
