Minecraft - This account does not appear to own minecraft or have PC Gamepass

Hi,

I bought Minecraft a few years ago and have just installed it on a new PC via the Microsoft Store, when I login to the store with my account and then install the game, it works with no issues, however, when I try and login to Minecraft.Net it looks like I do not own a copy of Minecraft, or other Minecraft applications that link to my Minecraft account, I get an error that starts "this account does not appear to own minecraft or have PC Gamepass".

I do own Minecraft as I am able to download and install from Microsoft Store, can you fix this issue for me as I should not have to buy another copy of the game to get it working.

Thank you in advance.

Daniel

    Hi Paul,

Thank you for the reply, apologies for the delay in replying. I will try the above.

When I go to the first link I can see a Windows 10/11 option to download and a Windows 7/8. Am I reading the above correctly that I should download and run the Windows 7/8 version even though I am running on Windows 10?

    Thanks again,

    Daniel

Hello, I'm Louie, and I'm happy to help you today. Hope you're doing well and safe there. I'm sorry that you're having trouble with your App.

First thing to do is to try signing out and then signing right back in and see if that helps. But make sure you're signed in to the right account where you purchased the game.

If the step above didn't work you may proceed with the solutions below.

Solution 1 - Run Windows App Troubleshooter:

Windows Key+X > Click Settings > Click Update & security > Click Troubleshoot > Scroll down to the bottom > Click Windows Store Apps > Click Run the Troubleshooter

Solution 2 - Try to Reset or Repair the app

Go to Windows Settings > Apps > Apps & Features > [Name of App] > Advanced Options > Reset or Repair. Restart PC.

Solution 3 - Reset Windows Store through Command Prompt

Type cmd in Windows Search box > Right click on Command Prompt > Run As Administrator > Type WSreset.exe and click Enter > Reboot your computer

Solution 4 - Re-register All Store apps (If get many Reds, you can just ignore it)

Windows Key+X > Windows Powershell (Admin) > Copy the following from below and right click in Powershell to paste > Enter > Restart your computer

    Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

Hope this helps and looking forward for good results.

    Kind regards,

    Louie

Good day NoobsTube360! I am glad to be able to provide assistance to you today. There is an ongoing issue with the new launcher for Windows 10/11, for the time being you can use the ones for Windows 7/8 or the ones advised by one from the ticket for the time being (as this causes the new launcher to prompt that you are only on demo or that you do not own the game) on the link below and I will also link the ongoing issue (even if the ticket says it is resolved you can still comment on it as there are others who are still experiencing the same issue) as well for tracking and reference and rest assured that this is being checked and worked on by the team to ensure that once you will be able to use the new launcher once the issue has been sorted out.

I'm sorry if the steps didn't work. I have limited information regarding third party apps. It may be best if I release your question to other advisors so they can take a look at it and let them share some other ways that can fix the issue.

You take care and keep safe always.

    Sincerely,

    Louie

    H Louie,

I'm good thanks and hope you are good and safe too?

The Microsoft Store "Minecraft" App is installed and working okay and I do not have an issue with that, what I am having an issue with is the following:

When I login to "https://www.minecraft.net/" with my Microsoft account, it is showing me that I do not own Minecraft and is asking me to buy it, I already own it via the Microsoft Store, how can I get this version on "https://www.minecraft.net/" without having to purchase it again as I already own it.

There are also 3rd party apps that require my Microsoft or Minecraft login that also report that I do not own the game, even though I do, this is what I am trying to fix.

    Can you help with this?

    Thank you in advance.
