in settings, i see that the integrated mic i use catches sound as it should, but in every app i want, the sound doesnt register at all. The inputs are correct, mics enabled, reinstalled drivers, still doesnt work, when i try to record the sound, only weird sounds comes out."Intel smart sound technology for digital microphones". for some reason even external mics dont work.

I appreciate your time getting back to this thread, If the issue persists, perform Repair Upgrade, it will repair and replace any corrupted system files.
Step 1: Download Media Creation Tool from Microsoft.

Click “Download Tool Now”
Step 2: Run MediaCreationTool.exe.
Step 3: Choose "Upgrade this PC now".
Step 4: Select "Keep personal files and apps".
Step 5: Let it install
Restart once done and check.

thank you for you time. I have no idea how, but it still doesnt work, went through both of the files, the setup wizard, everything, the mic in settings still shows activity, a bit lower then before but in other apps, still 0 input

-Look for Audio driver that was installed
-Right click and Uninstall
Once uninstalled , go to this links and download the drivers.

Once downloaded and installed restart your computer and check.

My name is Carlo, I am also using Windows 11 pc and community member like you. Let us work together to sort this out.
Here's the steps you can try.
-Go to Settings
-Click System
-Click Troubleshooter then Additional troubleshooter.
-Look for Speech and run the troubleshooter.
-Go to Device Manager
-Expand the Sound and Videogame Controller
-Look for Audio driver that was installed
-Right click and Update
-Look for "Browse my computer for driver
-Let me pick drivers available drivers
-Choose an old driver and use it.
-Go to Control Panel
-In Control Panel, select Large icons from the View by drop down menu.
-Select Sound.
-Select the Recording tab
-Right click the Microphone and click Enable.
-Right-click it again and select Set as Default Device.
-Right click Microphone and click Properties.
-Click the Levels tab, then drag the volume slider towards the largest value.
-Click OK
-Click Advance Tab
-Uncheck the box to "Allow application to take exclusive control on this device"
Turn on Microphone Privacy in each app.
Select Start > Settings > Privacy > Microphone . In Allow access to the microphone on this device, select Change and make sure Microphone access for this device is turned on.
Then, allow apps access to your microphone.
Once you've allowed microphone access to your apps, you can change the settings for each app.
Restart and check the Microphone.
If issue persist, let's download the updated driver.
What is the exact model of your computer?
To check the system model proceed with these steps.
-Press Windows key + R
-Type msinfo32 and hit enter.
-Look for the System Model and manufacturer and post it here.
