Hi Spectronium7, welcome to the Microsoft community, my name is Bruno Leonel, I am happy to help you.
I understand that you are having problems regarding the Switch pro controller and I will try to help you in the best way possible.
Windows 10 only accepts approved and supported devices, I mean the availability of drivers by the manufacturer, in the case of the Switch controller, Nintendo does not provide drivers, there are dozens of videos with tips but none of them works satisfactorily, even when the controller is detected it is not configurable or fails during the game, the functional and homologated controller for Windows 10 is the XboxOne controller.
In that case you have two options:
- Start steam in big picture mode and manually add controller in controller options, it works only in big picture mode and only works for steam games.
- Download BetterJoyForCemu, which is initially a program for a Nintendo Switch emulator, but it will make your controller work on Windows, just like every game you have on your PC. Just launch BetterJoyForCemu and click "Locate", which will make the controller vibrate if everything works fine.
If you have a Nintendo Switch ON, it's best to turn it off, as the controller will connect to your PC and your Switch at the same time.
