Left half of touchpad becomes unresponsive at times

I just got a new laptop which is running Windows 11 home. At random times, the left half of the mouse pad does not respond to touches or clicks. However, if I drag my finger from the right side to the left it does continue to read the touch, but only until the finger remains in contact with the touchpad, as soon as I lift my finger, the left half remains unresponsive. Again, this is completely random and fixes itself after a while. I have all my drivers up to date. I should mention though, my Radeon Software is not the same version as my (updated) drivers.

    Good Day OD_Bloodlust,

My name is Carlo, I am also using Windows 11 pc and community member like you. Let us work together to sort this out.

Here's the steps you can try.

    -Go to Device Manager

-Expand the Human Interface Device or Mice and other pointing device

-Look for HID Touchpad driver that was installed

    -Right click and Update

-Look for "Browse my computer for driver

-Let me pick drivers available drivers

-Choose an old driver and use it.

    Restart your computer and check.

If issue persist, let's download the updated driver

What is the exact model of your computer?

To check the system model proceed with these steps.

    -Press Windows key + R

    -Type msinfo32 and hit enter.

-Look for the System Model and Manufacturer and post it here.

I hope the information above helps. Please let me know how it goes.

Have a wonderful day ahead and stay safe.

    Sincerely,

    Carlo T.

Heya Carlo. Me again, I'm back because it is doing it again. And I actually did record a video of it too but unfortunately I do not see an option for posting videos here. After I reverted to the original driver, it did it again so I went back to the older version and its still doing it. I am aware that windows 11 is new and to be fairly honest was expecting some bugs to show up which makes me wonder if I should just bear with it and wait for an update which would hopefully fix it. The pointer also seems to be flickering, usually when I plug in my mouse but occasionally even when the mouse was not plugged in.

Heya Carlo, I'm currently running an Omen 16z-c000, manufactured by HP. I didn't respond earlier because I wanted to try what you had suggested. I did what you said and the touchpad did not go unresponsive but I noticed a choppy movement of the pointer at times so I went back to the original driver I was using. I have used the laptop quite a bit after that and the touchpad seems to be working fine so far, and I don't even see any sort of choppy pointer motion so I guess it is somewhat fixed. I appreciate you looking into it and will be sure to post a follow up if the problem arises again.
