Hey,

so I have been getting this error with quite a few different DLLs including InstallService.dll D3D12CORE.dll and SystemSettingsThresholdAdminFlowUI.dll as well as many others.
I'm not sure if this is relevant but I have,
Ryzen 5 3600
Gigabyte B550M
One 1TB HDD and one 1TB M.2 SSD

Any ideas on how to fix the problem?

    Hi,

I've tried these steps and that doesn't seem to have fixed it. Although its possible I did something wrong. I think this started when I installed an SSD and copied my HDD over to it, maybe some system files corrupted then? I looked into reinstalling windows but when I press the "Get Started" button this error appears:Image

Any ideas, on either the dll error in general or this specific one? btw I wouldn't want to lose my files

    Hi ,billycole3

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

This error is prompted, usually caused by missing or damaged dll files.

If it is a dll file of an application, uninstall and reinstall the application to solve the problem.

The three dll files you provided are all system dll files. If they are system files, you need to find these wrong dll files in other Windows 10 computers that are running well, and copy them to your computer, where the files are located.

Replace the corresponding original file. (It is recommended to keep a backup of the original dll file to prevent other problems)

After replacing the files, try opening a command prompt (C:\WINDOWS\system32>) as administrator and use the command "regsvr32.exe /s C:\WINDOWS\system32\***.dll"

Check if the problem is solved, if so, restart the system at an appropriate time to save the changes.

Or you can try fully register the .dll file in the system.

Start - Run Type CMD and click OK to open an Administrator Command Prompt window.

    Copy: for %1 in (%windir%\system32\*.dll) do regsvr32.exe /s %1 command,

    Enter to run.

    Start registering the .dll file of the system, and the files in the window will scroll continuously;

I hope this reply could address your question, or if you will have any  question on it, please feel free to let me know.

    Hi,

    Thank you for responding back.

As you might guess, some system files are corrupted, and the information you provided the first time includes several system dll files.

If the above steps to try to repair the dll file manually did not work, you may need to reinstall Windows,

Resetting the computer is also impossible because of missing and corrupted system files, and can only be reinstalled by creating installation media. (the screenshot you provided is for resetting your computer not reinstalling)

If you can accept it, it is recommended that you back up important files in advance. Save them to a safe place, reinstall them, and import them to your computer. This way the file will not be lost.

Below are the steps to reinstall. for your information.

Go to this link to download the Windows 10 installation image. Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

    (1)Click "Download Tool"

(2)After double-clicking to run the tool, it prompts "Preparation is in progress", click "Next"

    (3)Click "Accept" User License Terms

(4)Wait for the Windows preparation work to be completed, select "Create installation media for another computer"

(5)Select language, system version and number of bits according to your needs (the default is to automatically match according to the current system, if you re-select, uncheck "Use the recommended options for this computer")

(6)Select the ISO file and click Next.

(7)Wait for the file download and media creation to complete, click "Finish".

Hope it helps you. Have a nice day.

    Best Regards,

    Hinata

    Hi,

It is recommended to overwrite the system to repair.

This operation preserves your files and software, just for system repair :

    1. Please enter the following link

    Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

    Select "Download Tool Now"

    1. After the download is complete, run this tool, choose to create media for another computer, and then choose the ISO file as the next step to save as to the path you can find and wait for the installation.
    2. After the download is complete, you need to find the downloaded ISO file and right-click to open the file explorer. After opening, you will see several folders. The setup program runs to start the installation program.
    3. Change the Windows installer - not now, next step, next step, will do a system replacement repair after prompting to keep your files and software.

Hope it helps you. Have a nice day.

    Best Regards,

    Hinata

Do you know any way I could reset the system files without deleting everything else? or would I have to use the non-working recovery mode?

Anyways Thanks a lot for your reply
