There is no maximum size limit on a drive, if the drive fits into the slot in your laptop, then you an choose any size, there is no capacity limit on drives.

In my laptop there is an option to install M.2 NVMe ssd.
In the market there are M.2 NVMe ssd with various capacity (GB/TB). How do I know what is the maximum capacity for my laptop. My present Hard drive (not SSD) is showing empty space of 324 GB.
Any advice/suggestions/help in this regard will be much appreciated.

With regards to brand name, it is best to choose the best drive you can afford, for example, Samsung, Kingstorn and Crucial would be among the best.

Do you think brand name matters when buying M.2 NVMe ssd, also when I search on internet for NVMe M.2 ssd
it has Gen4x4, 3D TLC NAND Gen 3x4, NVMe M.2 Tpe 2280 PCIe Gen3.0x4 what are all these and how to select one?
