Network Connections folder empty, no networks shown and system restore will not work.

My desktop running Windows 10 would not connect to the internet. No networks were shown and the network connections folder is empty. I have tried several fixes including a Network Reset, Updating the Driver Software on Device Manager, deleting my Network Adapter and restarting (it has not yet re-appeared) and am now trying to action a system restore but the system restore function also returns an error 0x80042302 and will not run. I have connected an ethernet cable to my modem and this still will not connect.

    Hi Carlo

Thanks so much for the response.

I have a HP All in One 22-c-0020na.

The modem and WiFi is working fine fo my phone and two other laptops. I have tried an ethernet connection and still no networks appear - it is as if Flight Mode is stuck on but none of the fixes for that work.

    Thanks a lot

    Louise

    Good Day LouiseParkinson1 ,

My name is Carlo, I am also using Windows 10 pc and community member like you. Let us work together to sort this out.

-What connection you are trying to fix? is it the wifi connection or the Ethernet lan?

-Does other device like your phone can connect to your modem can you please check.

If the ethernet lan , can you please try to connect the lan cable using a different computer for us to identify if the issue is with your computer or the connection itself.

What is the exact model of your computer?

To check the system model proceed with these steps.

    -Press Windows key + R

    -Type msinfo32 and hit enter.

-Look for the System Model and Manufacturer and post it here.

If you are using a custom built pc look for Baseboard version and Baseboard product and post it here.

I'll look forward for your response so that I can provide an accurate recommendation.

Have a wonderful day ahead and stay safe.

    Sincerely,

    Carlo T.
