I currently have the following USB driver installed on my Lenovo ThinkPad T430 running Windows 10:

Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.0 (Microsoft) version 10.0.19041.1566

I want to install version 10.0.19041.488.

I would be grateful to know where to download this driver.

Regards,

Rob Borland

Replying to my own posting, I may be making progress . . .

Opening the Microsoft Update Catalogue and searching for "Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller" here:

    https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=Intel%20USB%203.0%20eXtensible%20Host%20Controller

finds 263 entries, mostly versions 10.1.1.xx; for example:

But clicking on the Download button and the subsequent link to the cab file does not work for me.

    What am I doing wrong?

You obtain any Bios or driver updates direct from Lenovo for your model (Its often the case that makers tweak drivers for their specific device)Laptop

Thank you Rob, you solved my problem. I uninstalled Bitdefender and the USB problem was fixed.

I have had Bitdefender Free installed for a couple of years and my problem only occurred when the new Microsoft USB3 driver was installed with the Feb Win 10 update, so I guess the problem is not with the new version of Bitdefender but changes to the Microsoft driver make it no longer compatible.

Thanks for your suggestion, however, I am unable to obtain this driver from Lenovo. I believe that it will be available from Microsoft but I have been unable to locate the exact source.

Hello RobBorland, I am having problems with wired and wireless mice on my Dell 7710 (out of warranty) also running Windows 10. The driver for the usb 3.0 extensible host controller driver was updated to version 10.0.19041.1566 on 2/10/2022. That is approximately the same time as the problems started. (Over the last month, I've ordered multiple mice, keyboards, etc trying to solve what I thought was a hardware problem.)

I now believe this driver is the problem and I want to revert to the previous version of the driver. Have you found the previous version yet?
