Can't install apps in Windows 11

I bought a laptop with Windows 11 already preloaded, Now I am trying to install an application that is not in the Microsoft store but I get an error 'For security and performance, Windows 10 in S mode runs Microsoft-verified apps, To get this app, you'll need to switch out of S mode.'

I have two questions: 1. What are the risks of switching out of S mode? 2. Is there a setting that I can change to allow installation of non-Microsoft software in Windows 11?

Good day! I'm John Dev a Windows user like you and I'll be happy to assist you today. I know this has been difficult for you, Rest assured, I'm going to do my best to help you.

Switch out of S mode will enable you to install third-party apps. As long you don't visit any malicious websites and install suspicious apps, you will be fine.

You can check the support article below on How to Switch out of S mode in Windows 11.
