I see now, yes, Network ID wizard to choose a domain. What happens when you choose This is a Home computer and click Next?

Are you presently signed into a domain account? Can you add a new account in Settings > Accounts > Family & Other Users > Other Users with a personal Microsoft Account email, sign into it and try the change again?

Sorry, but after several resets I could never get the change Network ID to stick. Even though it looked like it was reset to a personal computer, after restarting it was again a Business computer and not accessible by the other computers in our home network.

Since my laptop is still under warranty I contacted HP to send me a USB restore drive, because when I updated to Windows 11 Pro the backup windows was replaced with Windows 11.

I will go back to windows 10 Home, which was how I bought my laptop, and stay that way till I am forced to to to 11.

Since I've been wasting a week in following all the directions I found online & not getting any results, I have to go back to the beginning.

Also, do you know that almost every Windows update resets a bunch of settings that cause the home network to stop working, or prevent access to any website other than Bing, Google, or Yahoo main pages.

Thanks for offering help, but I have to say Good Bye for now

Sorry, but I reset my computer back to Windows 10 Pro.

It does have the same problem.

I think I got a print screen so I'll attach it if I can.

I got to it in Settings: About, Rename PC (advanced) on the right side.

It's still happening in 10 Pro. So I'm going to downgrade to 10 Home, when HP sends me a restore USB stick, since it's still under warranty

Diane, where is the screenshot I requested do I could see what Setting you are referring to? I find no Settings in Windows 11 to change from Business to Personal. That's why I asked for the screenshot so i can see it as I will most likely know the setting or can easily find out about it.

I am glad to hear you have contacted HP under warranty which should be relied upon for the first year to get any issues sorted out. But you'll also need guidance for these annoying issues like managing WIndows Updates and we have a lot of experience here so you could rely on us to help you navigate these hurdles.

Won't you please provide the screenshot I asked for, and have been standing by to help you with?

Hi Diane. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, specializing in Installation, Performance, Troubleshooting and Activation, here to help you.

Please post a screenshot of this Setting so I can see what you're seeing. Here's how to take one and attach using Attach Image button in reply box: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/o...
