How can I restore the MS Office 2021 in my laptop Dell Inspiron 5418 purchased few days back. I do not have the product key as the MS Office 2021 activation was done by the Dell seller.

I recently purchased a Windows 11 PC for my personal use a few days ago. I can create a recovery drive for my Windows 11 PC. I can restore my windows 11 PC from this recovery drive in the future. What I could not understand is how will I restore MS office 2021 which was preinstalled on the system? It was activated by the seller. I do not have any product keys with me. However, I want to mention that I have an account with Microsoft. At the time of MS Office 2021 activation, we told the Dell seller about the account and I logged into it using a one-time code.

I can recover my Windows 11 using the recovery drive but how can I recover my licensed MS Office 2021 on this PC? I am posting this query because I could not understand how all the software is interlinked to my Microsoft account. Please help me understand and advise.

Yes, when I log in to my Microsoft account I see that I have purchased Office 2021 on the same day on which I got my MS office 2021 activated. That means if I want to reinstall MS Office 2021 on my new PC (after recovery) then I just need to access my Microsoft account and "install" from that account.

I guess I understood it right. So, there is no need for a product key, it is linked to my Microsoft account.

    Thanks, Carlo.

    Good Day V.K.TIWARI,

I appreciate your time getting back to this thread, yes you got it right, no need for a key when it is associated with your account, just login to the link I posted with your Microsoft account and install it from there.

Have a wonderful day ahead and stay safe.

    Sincerely,

    Good Day V.K.TIWARI,

My name is Carlo, I am also using Windows 11 pc and community member like you.

You can check if they associate it with your Microsoft account, go to this link and sign in using the email address associated with it.

    https://www.office.com/myaccount

Once you signed in check if the Office 2021 is in your account.

If you can't see it , you can reach out to the place where you bought the device and inquire where did they associate the Office 2021.

Have a wonderful day ahead and stay safe.

    Sincerely,

    Carlo T.
