I am leaning towards this being a Dell driver or setting issue. I have a Dell G15 running Windows 11 and after playing with all of the normal and advanced sound settings the ATR2100X sounds horrible. It captures sound, but full of distortion and static. And the captured volume, even after tweaking all of the settings, is extremely low. This is unfortunate because the ATR2100X is a great mic. I plugged in a different USB mic (AT2020) which oddly enough is manufactured by the same company. The AT2020 on my Dell works perfectly fine. Crystal clear. Looking into the Samson Q2U microphone as an alternative to the ATR2100X.
Audio Technica ATR2100x USB Microphone
Just bought an Audio Technica ATR2100x USB microphone and it’s not working. I’ve tried all the obvious fixes and was on the chat with Dell for 2.5hrs 😬
The only thing left is that the microphone driver is not compatible with WIN11, does anybody have any ideas or shall I just give up and return it?
I have contacted Audio Technica and am waiting for them to get back to me.
TIA

Since I don't know the specific model of your device, but I see that you mentioned Dell, please try to download and install the microphone driver and BIOS driver of the corresponding model again: Drivers & Downloads | Dell US

It sounds like you are currently having a problem that Audio Technica ATR2100x USB Microphone unable to work in Windows 11. Sorry for the inconvenience.
In order to troubleshoot the problem better, may I ask is it work when connected other microphones on the current device? Does this Audio Technica ATR2100x USB Microphone work when connected to other devices (Windows11/Windows10)?
The issue could indeed be related to drivers compatibility, I'm not quite sure what fixes you did, but you can try to update the drivers to the latest:
Update Universal Serial Bus Controllers and sound card drivers to the latest (Right click on Start > Device Manager > Right-click on the driver to update)
Or try to go to the manufacturer's official website to download another version if available.
Feel free to post back if you need further assistance.
