Headphones With Mic Unable To Be Used As Both
I've recently built a new rig and when I went to call one of my friends, they couldn't hear me. I soon figured out that was because my headphones with a built in mic were only being detected as an audio output, not input. In the other port my headphones only get detected as an audio input. I would like to be able to hear and to be heard, how might I do that?
Thanks, Ethan.

2022-03-23T16:03:13+00:00 Sounds more like a driver issue. Might be Windows 11 though since its going to have extra problems for a while. If its 3.5 then Win11 input jack code might have an issue.
Though Joseph could be on to something if you lost an adapter previously that it came with and completely forgot it ever had one. Some do have separate cables. Suppose it could be a Y in special cases. This would just be really rare to have someone get to this point so its likely wrong. Assuming also that you didn't try a USB one.

2022-03-23T15:13:37+00:00 Good Day TheEthanAlexander,
My name is Carlo, I am also using Windows 11 pc and community member like you. Let us work together to sort this out.
-What kind of headphone you are using , is it connect via USB, 3.5 mm jack or a Bluetooth headphone?
First, try the headphone mic using a different and check if issue persists.
If it does the same using a different device means that the headphone is faulty
If it works on different device let me know the exact model of your computer
To check the system model proceed with these steps.
-Press Windows key + R
-Type msinfo32 and hit enter.
-Look for the System Model and manufacturer and post it here.
If you are using a custom built pc look for Baseboard version and Baseboard product and post it here.
I'll look forward for your reponse so that I can provide an accurate recommendation.
Have a wonderful day ahead and stay safe.
Sincerely,
Carlo T.
