Control + D

Hi,

I noticed that as of recently, the control + D combinaison in windows explorer has become a shortcut to permanantly delete files.

The problem is that in my head and an lot of other apps control + D means duplicate. This already has lead my to unwillingly erase important files. Really annoying, especially givent the fact that we already have a shortcut for that purpose: shift suppr!

I would like to desactivate this shortcut but I dont' know how.

Can anyone please help me do that?

Regards,

Frederic

    Hi Frederic,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

The Ctrl + D shortcut is a system side shortcut and there is no native method to override that shortcut.

The PowerToys Utility has a Keyboard Manager section that you can use to remap Windows built-in Keyboard shortcuts, Microsoft provide the steps on the page below.
