Xbox Game pass for PC File location

Recently I've been trying to import my .exe files from my 3rd party apps to steam so I don't have to open extra software.

Right now I have the majority of my games in Steam now, but I can not find where the files for the Xbox Gamepass for PC games are at.

I've seen a post that said that the Xbox Gamepass for PC games are located at C:\Program Files/WindowsApps But that leads me to another problem that I cannot access the file as it says I don't have permission. And I also have tried to get past that but it feels impossible so I gave up.

    Hi faxeGotBan

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

The WindowsApps folder is the most protected folder on a Windows system, that is done to ensure the pre-installed Windows apps and all apps and games from the Microsoft Store are protected from malware.

Microsoft recommend you do not change permissions on that folder, because many users have corrupted their Windows operating system by doing that, or at the least, all Store apps ang games will stop functioning.

If it is enough to find the location of a game exe file, here is how to find that location

Open Tas manager (Ctrl + Shift +Esc) then select the Processes tab

Right click any column header and turn on the Command Line column

Then open a store game and in the Command Line column you will see the exact path to the game exe, which you may be able to add to the Steam Launcher.

    Hi faxeGotBan

if that did not work then it may not be possible to do this, the best option would be to post a question to the Steam Forum, over there, you may find someone who has successfully added a Windows App to the Steam Launcher, they may have a workaround.

    Hi faxeGotBan

Is there a small arrow to the left of that game on the Processes tab, if so, click that to show the sub-tasks, you will then see the path to that game executable file.
