3rd party AntiVirus applications are more like a virus. They attach themselves to your OS in very deep ways and can cause problems when they get things wrong or things change and they get it wrong. If you use one, just expect more problems. Its more software with more bugs so there will be more problems.
There's also other problems that you probably don't even realize though such as SSD controllers losing data on power outage (or for other reasons up to the controller programmers) for example. Some do better, some corrupt the OS. Depends on the manufacturer.
Its a pain but its the state of computers today. Every year it will get worse and more complex. Computers need to go back and start from scratch at this point in my opinion. But, they will keep making it worse and adding to the complexity instead.
But, your use of a 3rd party AntiVirus is attached to your needs. If you need something more than Windows Defender, you will have the cons that come with it.
