Audio is not coming through my monitor, though everything says it is working.

I have just built a new pc and installed windows. Yesterday the audio worked fine, today nothing will come from the monitor. I have tried adjusting the volume for the audio, individual apps, I've ran the audio tests and troubleshoots, reinstalled drivers, and even tried recovering the windows audio service - nothing.

Moreover, my PC shows me that the audio is working. The device settings show no problems, I can see the volume bar move as sound is played, though no sound can be heard. I've tried different HDMI cables, different ports, and verified that the audio does work on a different tv, and also works through my headphones connected to my PC (I did try the audio with and without the headphones connected).

Again, this audio worked literally yesterday, and today its not working at all, and there doesn't even seem to be a detectable problem as far as the PC is concerned. What am I missing?

Intel Display Audio or AMD HD audio are HDMI audio in your monitor.

Realtek Audio is your laptop's internal speakers or 3.5mm audio.

Thank you for the quick response.

However this did not solve the problem, I still have no audio. Also my speakers in device manager say that everything is working properly.

Under the device manager however I scrolled down to my system speakers and the status says "there are no drivers installed for this device" but when I view the properties and try and install a driver, it tells me that no driver is required. Could this be related to the issue?

Thanks for the update. The audio output (3.5mm headphones, speaker, headset) from the motherboard is different from the HDMI audio. The HDMI output has its own audio driver. Did you uninstall this HDMI Audio driver from the Device Manager?

    Open Device Manager.

Click View then check show hidden devices.

Expand Sound, video, and game controllers

Uninstall the driver HDMI audio drivers

    Unplug the HDMI cable

then power reset again your PC.
