Connect to wireless display (LG Smart TV)

** FYI none of the topics fit what my question is actually about, so I picked "Connect Phone to PC" even though that isn't my problem.**

I recently upgraded to Windows 11 and other than the action center being dispersed into other areas, I haven't had any issues... until yesterday when I tried to connect my pc to my LG Smart TV as a wireless display. I've done this several times in the past and was even able to do it early in the week, so I know it's not a windows 11 bug.

I did have an update for windows, but after installing the connection issue wasn't resolved. I tried turning off both my pc and my tv, but that didn't work. I tried forgetting my tv as a device and re-adding it, but that didn't work either.

I think it might be an issue with my tv because the message I get when I try to connect is "unable to connect with screen share. try again."

My tv's software is up to date.

I have reached out to LG support, but I figured I'd post on here too in case anybody else may have run into the issue and has a solution.

Thanks for any help.

    Hi TexasChick,

I am Sumit here to assist you with this question.

Make sure the both the devices are connected with the same network. Sometimes if a device is connected with 5Ghz and other with 2.4Ghz, it might give a problem.

In the TV as well, try reconfiguring the network again.

    In the PC,

Please see the Display driver troubleshooting below:

Option 1: Try Rolling back the Display driver.

Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.

Navigate to Display devices and expand it. Right-click the Display adapter.

    Choose Properties.

On the Driver tab, click the Rollback Driver button to go back to the previous version.

Option 2. Remove drivers completely and Install the newest ones available from the OEM or the maker.

    What you need to do:

    1. Uninstall everything of Display driver using DDU

    4. Wait for the process to complete.
