Ok everyone, I'm sure someone in the future will see this and want to know how I fixed this issue.

So the time was not the only issue, i was also having issue intermittently where I could not power on my PC, at first - and coincidently, the power on button was worn out and needed replacing. Once I did this the pc began to power on again, but i would continue to face issues with losing time.

I tried all the options, CMOS battery replacement, manually updating time etc.

ultimately, the issue was actually my CPU, it was dying and this was the sign of its impending doom, I ended up buying a new processor (thank you AMD for keeping the same chipset) and everything was once again right in the world.

Hi Mustaqeem, my name is Neil and I'm a Windows 11 user like you.

Sorry you're having issues with your clock losing time and not syncing properly.

Can you try the following for me please:

Right click your clock in the system tray of your taskbar and then click on "Adjust date & time".

This will bring up the "Date & time" setting window.

Make sure the setting "Set the time automatically" is switched ON

Scroll down and click on "Additional clocks"

This will bring up a separate date & time window.

    Click the "Internet Time" tab.

    Click the "Change Settings" button.

Make sure you have a tick in the box where it says "Synchronise with an Internet time server" and whatever time server is currently showing in the box, click the drop down arrow and change it to the other one.

Normally there are two time servers:

    time.nist.gov

    time.windows.com

So whatever yours is currently set to, change it to the other one and then click on OK.

Click OK to close the other window.

    Reboot your computer.

Now check and see if your time is behaving correctly.

Let me know if this works for you.

    Kindest regards,

    Neil
