Blue line

Hi,

I currently have my PC connected to a 4K tv running at 1080p.

I seem to have randomly blue lines occasionally flickering on my screen.

They don't stay on for very long, it's a blink and you will miss it type thing. However, it can get a little distracting.

The computer runs completely fine otherwise and has absolutely 0 issues.

Does anyone have any idea what the cause could be?

Thanks in advance.

    Hello JayWadeUK,

Thanks for your post in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are having issues with occasional blue lines on your monitor. There are two possibilities for the blue line: bad driver or bad hardware.

First we troubleshoot hardware issues, if you connect the monitor to other graphics output devices or just turn on the monitor to see if there is a blue line.

If not, it is most likely due to a driver bug or incompatibility.

You can check for driver updates.

Right click on the "Windows logo key" >> Select "Device Manager" >> "Display Adapters" >> Select your display driver >> Right click and select "Properties" >> "Update Driver Now"

If Windows cannot detect the graphics card driver, it is recommended that you go to the official website of your graphics card manufacturer to download the latest driver provided by them.

Please feel free to let me know how it goes.

    Hi Kirk,

    Thanks for the quick reply.

I have tried to troubleshoot it already, It only seems to happen with my 4k TV as when I plug it into a 1080p 23" TV via the same HDMI cable the blue lines are entirely absent. The blue lines also never occurred on my old TV. However, the TV works fine in every other way as if I use the same TV for a different device the blue lines are absent, they only happen with my PC on this specific TV. I have also tried changing the HDMI port on the TV and the blue lines still appeared.

Thanks for any advice you can give.

Maybe you try not to reduce the resolution to 1080P, test it with 4K resolution, and see if there is a blue line. It is possible that using a lower resolution may cause the display to process the image incorrectly.
