Window 11 taskbar auto-hide turning off

I switched to Windows 11 a few weeks ago, and ever since then, the taskbar auto-hide quits working when the computer comes out of Sleep mode. I have to be away from the computer for a while before it will happen, and I believe it has something to do with me running dual monitors. When I wake my computer, my secondary monitor appears to come up faster than my primary by just a fraction. Once my primary is on, there is a message saying something about the taskbar already being hidden (I think) and the taskbar on my primary monitor has the taskbar up. When I go to Taskbar Behaviors, 'Automatically hide the taskbar' is no longer checked. I'll select it again, and it will work fine until the system goes back into Sleep mode for a while, again.

I have the exact same issue like the topic opener. Your answer, dear Microsoft support, does not help at all. You describe how to disable the auto-hide feature. That is not our issue. Did you read the topic openers description? We have the following issue:

We enable the auto-hide feature and we know how to do it in the settings and we want it to stay enabled. But Windows does not remember the setting after it goes to sleep or after rebooting. The auto-hide feature is always disabled again by windows itself. The user permanently has to re-enable the feature in the setting. Like the topic owner i also use a dual monitor setup. Please accept this as being a bug and forward it to the developers so it can be solved.

    Thanks and best regards

    Juergen

Just like the other users on this chain, I am having the same problem, and for me it also seems to be connected to using a dual monitor setup. I would love an update on this bug so that I don't have to turn the "automatically hide taskbar" setting on multiple times a day.

Thanks for actually reading the original post and posting a smart reply! I have the same issue and wonder if I will revert to Win 10. The taskbar takes away lots of screen real estate that I need.
