How to change buttons on a mouse that is not a “Microsoft device“

I want to change the settings of my mouse. It is a gaming mouse so I very much need this mouse, but there is a button on the side I do not use for gaming but it is set as a back button. I accidentally click it all the time while doing other things besides gaming. Try browsing the web when you constantly get brought back to the previous page. When I go to the Microsoft mouse and keyboard center it tells me “no supported device detected. Microsoft mouse and keyboard center cannot detect a Microsoft device connected to your computer.“

    Hi newfox

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

That Microsoft app will only work with Microsoft peripherals, you would need to use a 3rd party utility like the free XMouse Control to re-configure the buttons on your mouse.
