Recently updated newer PC from Windows 10 to 11. Installed a game indicating it would not start indicating an error message that it would not proceed because xinput1_3.dll was not found. Observed fixes for Windows 10 and lower (eg. DirectX 12). Please advise to correct procedure for Windows 11. Thanks

    Hi PhilDel Turco,

if Xinput 1.3 is missing you just need to install it. Search for DirectX End user Runtimes Web Installer - it's bundled in it.

I know this thread is pretty old but I just had same problem and I found this and some other stupid things about it. Anyway, I solved it in a few minutes by myself and any Google search I did was confusing.

I hope this helps someone in the future - maybe also myself in case I don't remember xD

    Regards,

    Chris

    Hi PhilDel

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Click your Start Button, then just type dxdiag and press Enter:

Please provide a screenshot of the Display tab on the resulting DirectX utility.

Hi Dave, Thanks for responding. Earlier today did the dxdiag and noted DirectX 12 installed. In my system performed a graphics update to my NVIDIA GeForce along with a Windows update. Running an Acer Predator 700. Still getting oriented from Windows 10 to 11. Do you still need the screen shot?

    Hi Phil

    Sorry, I was offline

You should completely remove the current Nvidia device driver using the widely available free DDU utility, then restart your PC and go to the support page for your PC on the manufacturer's website to download and install their recommended version of the Nvidia device driver.
