wia scan not working. How do I get the scanner working again?
My HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Premium printer quit scanning after the December HP updates. The scan doctor tries to do an WIA Scan and fails to repair the problem. I'm using Windows 10 on a Dell XPS computer. I tried to turn on the wia in windows but it failed.

Can you try restoring the registry for that service?

2022-01-21T03:52:03+00:00 Hi Tom,
I am Sumit here to assist you with this question. In services.msc, is Windows Image acquisition service running or stopped?
Press Windows+R keys on the keyboard, or Right-click Start on the taskbar, and choose Run.
Type services.msc
Press Enter.
No wia is not running. When I attempt to start wia by clicking on start under its properties it fails to start and gives me a 1067 error message saying it can't start wia on this computet. I'm using Windows 10 on a DELL XPS computer. Scan was working just fine until earlier this month. My HP Officejet Pro 8600 will still scan to a USB stick but not to my computer. Printing functions are still working fine. My name is Dale (not Tom) by the way. Thank you for trying to help!
