Hi Guys,

I have an HP laptop which had Windows 10 pre-installed, then I upgraded to Windows 11. I have applications software installed on my laptop which acted weirdly since the upgrade.

How can I create a bootable USB to format my system and have a clean Windows 11 installation? then I will re-install my other software.

Appreciate your feedback.

    Hello, welcome to our community.

It's simple! just download Windows 11 media creation tool, here is the link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11

    • Connect a USB flash drive and enter the media creation tool and follow the instructions you will see.

    Hope I helped you.

    Hello saadsoliman,

Thank you for updating me with that information. Make sure to let the sync to finish first so that all of your photos are backup on OneDrive. Formatting the C drive later without fully syncing your photos will result in the loss of those files.

Please check CraigLong's solution in the older thread below if it helps.

    Hi John,

I managed to create the bootable USB, thanks for your help. The mistake I was doing was not to un-check (Use the recommended options for this PC).

    Another side question please:

I have a large folder for our family photos which I cannot back it up on my external hard drive, as I ran out of space.

I moved this folder to my OneDrive folder and I cannot see it on my C: drive anymore, while it exists on my OneDrive but with a status "Sync Pending". Now, is it safe to format my C: drive then restore that folder later? This a screen print of my OneDrive. Appreciate your recommendation.

    Thank you

    Hi Patrick,

Thanks for your reply. I have followed the instructions on the link you have sent me.

The download was finished successfully, then it started on the second phase where it displayed the below error message and stopped.

I repeated this process twice with the same result. Any idea what causes this problem?
